Getting Away (from family)

Are you full? I'm not talking about turkey, stuffing, cranberries and pumpkin pie, but family. For some, the gathering of extended family is a joy -- for others, not so much. After a long weekend (they are going home soon, aren't they?!) of Great Aunt Sally and Grandpa Joe bickering about everything, you may just be ready to get away. Never fear, Cheaper Than Hotels offers last minute (Yes! You can go now!) deals that can have you on a plane to the UK before you can say 'pass the stuffing.'

Let's start in London.

Now that's a beautiful bridge! London has so much to see and do, you definitely won't be bored. Hotels in London are plentiful and many are so nice that you won't want to step outside to see the sites, but please do. If nothing else, check out the Tower Bridge. Not only is it gorgeous, but the views from the walkways are not to be missed. It's kid-friendly, too.

Okay, off to Birmingham.

Once you settle in your hotel (Book a nice one, you deserve it. Hotels in Birmingham are great!) get your walking shoes on and head out the door. Birmingham is the second largest city in the UK, second only to London, and is welcoming toward tourists. It's only a little more than an hour from London, but by booking a room, you can enjoy the sites and then settle in for the night without a long drive back.

Last stop, Manchester.

Don't worry, Hotels in Manchester can offer you all of the comforts of home (without Great Aunt Sally & Grandpa Joe) at a price you can afford. Just two hours from Birmingham, Manchester boasts a number of fun things to do. Piccadilly Gardens, now how British does that sound? Gotta go. Also, check out the Manchester Art Museum, The Lowry (everything from ballet to comedy shows), and don't miss Urbis. The interactive exhibits will keep you on your toes!

With any luck, by the time that your return flight lands, your extended family will have packed up and headed back to their own houses. Ah, in the clear. Well, until next year...
